Introduction

  • Some functions on the phone can be controlled using gestures while wearing the band. These gestures are for music control, camera control, call control, and presentation control on the phone.
  • In order to use these gestures, make sure that the Reflex Wav app has gestures enabled. These gestures are usually enabled by default on the app.

Music Gesture

You can use this gesture to shift to the next track or the previous track on your phone.

To play the next song

Step 1: Start playing a song on your phone in the default music player app viz. Google Play for Android phones and iTunes for iPhone. (These gestures will not work for any other app). This will open the music screen on the band.
Step 2: Hold your hand in a L shape with the palm facing the side of the body as shown
Step 3: Twist your wrist in a clockwise direction till it faces the ground. Repeat this action twice in a synchronized manner

To play the previous song

Step 1: Hold your hand in a L shape with the palm facing the ground
Step 2: Twist your wrist by 90 degrees in an anti-clockwise direction till it faces the side of your body. Repeat this action twice in a synchronized manner
Step 3: Twist the wrist from horizontal position to vertical position and back to the horizontal position. Repeat this action twice.
Ensure the band’s music screen is on and the song is playing on the phone

Camera Gesture

You can activate both the front camera and the back camera using the band.
Step 1: Leave the hand down sideways with your thumb touching the thigh and palm facing backwards
Step 2: Twist your wrist by 90 degrees in anti-clockwise direction and return to original position. Repeat this action twice in a synchronized manner to trigger the camera.

Call Control Gesture

When connected to an Android phone, the band can mute or reject incoming calls. You can only reject incoming calls on iOS platform and not mute them (due to limitations set by Apple).

To mute the call

Step 1: Twist your arm to make the band face downwards
Step 2: Hold this position for 1-2 seconds

To reject the call

Step 1: Hold up your arm perpendicular to the body, with your wrist vertical.
Step 2: Twist the wrist from the vertical position to the horizontal position, and back to the vertical position. Repeat this action twice.
Note: If the responses for rejected calls is enabled on the app, a message will be sent to the caller when the band rejects the call.
You can only reject the call within the first 20 seconds. The reject call feature will not work with Android 8.0 and Android 8.1 due to a limitation of the software in that version. It will work fine with all Android versions between 5 – 7 and iOS 9.

Presentation Gesture

The Presentation gesture allows you to switch between slides and use your hand as an air mouse.

To set up presentation control on your band, follow these steps

Step 1: Make sure the band is connected to the phone via Bluetooth
Step 2: Ensure the Wav connected phone and laptop/computer are on the same WiFi network. You can also use a second phone and connect the Laptop and the Wav connected phone via hotspot
Note: Some offices might have stringent firewalls placed in their premises because of which, despite being on the same WiFi, this feature does not work.
Step 3: Install Gesture PPT software on the computer/laptop. Make note of the laptop’s IP address from here.
Step 4: Choose “Start Presentation” from the drop-down menu in the phone app.
Step 5: Enter the IP address of the computer on your phone app. This will connect your band to your laptop. These will be the displays on each of your devices:
Band – PPT Mode
Computer software – Connected
App – PPT Control Screen

In order to go to the next slide, follow these steps

Step 1: Leave the hand down sideways and parallel to the body, with the palm facing the thigh
Step 2: Twist your wrist by 90 degrees in clockwise direction and return to original position. Repeat this action twice in a synchronized manner to trigger the next slide

In order to go to the previous slide, follow these steps

Step 1: Leave the hand down sideways with your thumb touching the thigh and palm facing backwards
Step 2: Twist your wrist by 90 degrees in anti-clockwise direction and return to original position. Repeat this action twice in a synchronized manner to trigger the previous slide

To activate the air mouse follow the following steps

Step 1: Hold the hand in an L shape with the palm facing downwards.
Step 2: Twist your wrist by 180 degrees in anti-clockwise direction, till your palm faces upwards and return to the original position.
Step 3: Move your hand in the air to move the pointer on screen
You can now control the mouse with the movement of the mouse.
To deactivate the air mouse leave your hand down for 2secs
